Youth Programs, Inc. has resumed its role as Host Organization of the St. Jude Classic – the annual PGA TOUR event in Memphis. In addition, former Memphis city councilman and local business leader Jack Sammons has been elected president of YPI and general chairman of the St. Jude Classic.
YPI, which ran the tournament from its inception in 1958 through the 2007 event, replaces Children’s Champions for Hope, Inc., the board that ran the event the past two years.
Brian Gay won the 2009 St. Jude Classic in convincing fashion with matching rounds of 66 the last three days. It was Gay’s second victory in the last five events and propelled him into the U.S. Open at Bethpage Black. For more information, click here...”
